This body of work first started during the “Shelter In Place” order that happened in the first months of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Normally my paintings are very abstract and gestural. There's still a lot of use of color, vibrancy, and layering. However, as the world was going in the direction of more chaos and uncertainty, I was becoming more reserved with my painting. Everything became very rigid and planned out almost like an architectural drawing. These paintings reflect how I use this uncertainty to find balance.
